We're grasping at poorly plotted straws here. In the real world, it takes at least four years to finish college well, some folks pull it off in three, but we'll just call them overachievers and move on. Sabrina, however, snagged a degree suspiciously quickly. Sabrina and pals only attended John Adams College for series five and six, which, based on the timelines of previous seasons, should add up to two years in Sabrina time. By the end of Season Six, there is no clue that Sabrina is anywhere near finishing school, and there is no graduation ceremony episode or fear of moving on mentioned.
At all. The other option is that the seasons she spent at college actually covered more time than previously suggested, somewhat contradicting the timeline dictated by previous seasons.
Maybe Sabrina was going for an associate degree? Her lacking skills do bring her poorly written characters to life to wreak havoc around Westbridge High, so there's that. However, later in Season Three, Sabrina briefly becomes the editor of the school paper, and later went on to pursue a career in journalism. She even got a job at a magazine before quitting to become a freelance reporter.
So, if she was such a terrible writer, how the hell did she become a professional journalist? Fiction and non-fiction journalism may be two separate creative skills, but both rely on being able to coherently tell a damn story, which Sabrina was unable to do from what audiences could tell.
In the pilot episode, we learn that Sabrina had no idea she was a witch until she turned 16 and her magical powers kicked in. We also see in flashbacks that Hilda and Zelda were able to use their powers as children, so why was Sabrina the exception? We always assumed it was because she was half-mortal and raised in the Mortal Realm, but this is never actually stated on the show. In all that time, did she have no inkling whatsoever that her father was a witch? Let's not even dive into the fact that she spent several summers with Hilda and Zelda without learning anything of her family history.
Seemingly, the only explanation for this can be an edict by the Witches Council. After all, they were very much against mortals and witches procreating, so it would make sense that they would force witches to keep magic a secret from half-mortal offspring until they were proven to have abilities of their own.
Either that, or Sabrina was just really, really oblivious. They came to watch Green sing and sent her to the production's music arranger and producer. The show opened in Los Angeles, but eventually moved to New York, which caused Green to move across the country. Like it is for many young adults, the cross-country move was a big step for Green. I became an adult the entire time I was working on that show. While learning these two roles may sound overwhelming, Green told the Slumber Party podcast that she had actually been hoping to learn both parts.
She told Broadway Wiz that learning Elphaba's part was her "toughest [job] to date" but was an "amazing opportunity. Green acted on the national tour for about a year and then made her Broadway debut.
However, she didn't have much time to prepare for the transition. She told Broadway Wiz that she only had three days before joining the Broadway company. West End, similar to Broadway, is home to some of the best plays and musicals in the world.
Green described the experience as "surreal and exhilarating" to Broadway Wiz. It not only gave the actress previously known for playing Libby from Sabrina the Teenage Witch global experience but gave her the opportunity to work with a friend on such a meaningful project. Green also explored work in a new medium — web series. She acted on an episode of The Residuals , a comedic series about actors who do commercials. She was invited to do an episode in the show's second season, playing a character's girlfriend.
Broadway World reported that Green got involved with the project through James Tabeek, who was Green's former castmate on the Wicked national tour.
As an actor, Green obviously has some familiarity with the casting process at which The Residuals pokes fun. Green spoke about her own casting nightmares with Broadway World, saying, "Pretty much any horror movie audition is ridiculous. You're generally screaming a lot, in a sexy outfit, over and over. Yet, I still go cause I'm dying to do a horror film! It's clear that Jenna Leigh Green has had a wide range of acting experience, as she's acted in television, movies, web series, and musicals.
Green played titular character Nancy Kerrigan, whose Olympic dreams were nearly derailed after she was attacked in the knee. Green told Broadway World , "The show is crazy and fun and a total roller coaster.
The show has crazy rock music and fun operatic elements, but also has a ton of heart; and of course laughs. Lots of laughs," Green explained to Broadway World. Jenna Leigh Green couldn't stay away from playing the mean girl for too long. According to Playbill , The Marvelous Wonderettes is a musical set in the late s that follows four girls — The Wonderettes — who recount their dreams through "chart-topping hits of the era.
Green's theater experience is extensive, but she admitted to still feeling overwhelmed with the role at first. It is 27 songs, and some of them are minute long medleys and we have four-part harmonies to learn.
Green noted to Stage Door Dish , "Cindy Lou gets the biggest change over the 10 years, it helps to see how much she has grown and softened up by Act 2. Libby is a spoiled rich girl, who almost everybody, in Westbridge High, sees as a queen. Libby is the mean girl of Westbridge High School.
She gives Sabrina, Jenny, and later Valerie, a hard time, calling them freaks, and calling Jenny a "frizzy freak", due to her curly hair. She is turned into a pineapple by Sabrina by accident and is later restored back by Zelda , much to the disapproval of Hilda , who wanted to slice, and dice, her. She is also jealous that Harvey would rather be with Sabrina than her.
She tries to gain Harvey's affections, but fails. When in a very bad mood, Sabrina intentionally transformed Libby into a goat. Sabrina would later turn her back, though some goat-related traits would still linger a bit, afterwards.
Sabrina often casts lesser spells on Libby too, usually to amuse herself, or to teach Libby a lesson. Libby goes for editor for the school paper, in Season Two, only to become furious when Sabrina gains it instead. When Sabrina feels she can no longer be editor, Libby thinks she is going to gain it, and becomes even more angry when Valerie gains it. Libby also has a bond with Mr. Kraft , as they both enjoy giving Sabrina, Valerie, and other students, a hard time.
Libby trades places with Sabrina due to molecular instability; Libby is nice and Sabrina tries taking over the world, with her magic. However, Salem saves Sabrina from trials and Zelda switches them back.
